Armenia’s electricity production fell by 6.2% in 2016
A total of 7 315.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in Armenian in 2016 which is less by 6.2% to compare with the date of the previous year, according to the country’s National Statistical Service (NSS).
According to the source, electricity generation at hydro power plants amounted to 2 581.5 million kilowatt-hours, which is decrease by 7,8% to compare with 2015 production volumes.
Electricity production at thermal power plants has increased by 6,6%, comprising 2 351.4 million kilowatt-hours.
In 2016, energy production at Armenian power plant amounted to 2 380.5 million kilowatt-hours, which is 14,6% decline of the 2015 data.
According to the NSS data, energy production from other sources dropped 51,4%, comprising 1,8 million kilowatt-hours electricity.
