Carpet, knitwear production continues dropping in Armenia
Volumes of the carpet and carpet coverings production have decreased by 56.1% in 2016 as compared with the volumes produced in 2015.
The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (NSS) informs that in 2016, 18 tons of carpets and carpet coverings have been produced in the republic, while the number was 41 tons in 2015.
As to knitwear production, in 2016, 3 476.1 thousand articles have been manufactured in Armenia, compared to 3 607.3 thousand articles produced in 2015. Overall, the knitwear production has decreased by 3.6% in Armenia.
According to NSS, for the indicated period only hosiery production increased by 2.1 times. According the source, 7 901.6 thousand pairs have been produced in 2015, compared to 16 257.7 thousand pairs manufactured in 2016.
