Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has no military solution_ Donald Tusk
The status quo is unsustainable. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has no military solution. President of the European Council Donald Tusk has announced the aforesaid during the meeting with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, Panorama.am reports.
“We discussed the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The status quo is unsustainable. The conflict does not have a military solution and needs an early political settlement in accordance with international law. The EU continues to fully support the mediation efforts and proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs,” Donald Tusk has announced.
Earlier it was reported that Azeri President Ilham Aliyev paid a visit to Brussels to discuss the joint programs in the energy sphere.
Reuters reports that during the meeting with Aliyev both Head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and Donald Tusk have turned to the human rights situation in Azerbaijan reminding the official Baku that the violation of the fundamental human rights and freedom of expression are unacceptable.
As the news agency reports, before the meeting with the Azeri President Jean-Claude Juncker told the reports the following: “I will now see the president of Azerbaijan, so the nice part of the day is over.”
