Round fifth games of the Portugal Open 2017 were held on Monday, where Armenian GM Karen Grigoryan claimed a victory. International master Tigran Harutyunyan, another representative of Armenia, played a draw. Tigran Gharamyan, representing France at the tournament, played a draw as well.

GM Karen Grigoryan sits the eleventh with 4 points - a point behind the leader of the tournament Eduardo Bonelli of Italy. Tigran Harutyunyan comes the twenty-first with 3.5 points.
