The Third Garrison Investigative Department of Armenia’s Instigative Committee has launched criminal cases over the murder of the Armenian contract serviceman and the attempted assassination on another NKR serviceman by the Azerbaijani fire.

The Information and Public Relations Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee told Panorama.am that the Third Garrison Investigative Department has opened criminal cases over the committal of a murder and a murder attempt on the basis of ethnic, racial or religious motives.

The source recalls that at around 11:00 a.m. February 8, Armenian contract serviceman Gegham Henrik Manukyan was killed as a result of a shooting from the Azerbaijani side at one of the military positions located in the northern direction of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army.

An hour later, at around 12:00 a.m. Defense Army serviceman Koryun Kamo Kirakosyan was heavily wounded as a result of Azerbaijani ceasefire violation in Martakert direction of the Line of Contact.

The latter has been taken to Stepanakert Military Hospital and is currently in a critical condition.

Preliminary investigation is underway.
