President of Armenia’s Control Chamber Ishkhan Zakaryan has submitted a resignation letter to Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan. Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hermine Naghdalyan noted about this at today’s Parliament session, Panorama.am reports.

Notably on 5 November 2007, upon the decision of the Parliament I. Zakaryan was appointed as President of the RA Control Chamber. According to another decision adopted by the NA on 12 November 2013 he regained the same position.

Leader of the PAP faction Naira Zohrabyan said that it is necessary to establish a civilized tradition in the Parliament to express gratitude to those officials who have cooperated with the Parliament for many years.

However Naghdalyan called on not to hurry as pursuant to the NA statute any official appointed by the Parliament has the right to retract his resignation within three days after its submittal. And according to the law on the Control Chamber the period of retracting resignation for the chamber officials is 15 days.
