Armenia bans poultry product from Poland due recorded cases of avian influenza
Armenia has announced a temporary ban on import of all types of poultry products from Poland, where avian influenza cases have been recorded, the country’s State Service for Food Safety at the Ministry of Agriculture said on Friday in a released statement.
The ban, which became effective from February 9 aims at preventing the spread of avian influenza into the territory of Armenia.
Aside from live poultry, the ban is also applicable to all types of poultry products, raw materials (feather, fluff), eggs for sale and incubation, bone flour, feed, complementary feeding stuff (excluding the complementary feeding stuff containing synthetic and chemical materials), eggs’ polymer and cardboard boxes and small boxes. The ban will be continued until the information on the elimination of highly pathogenic bird flu disease by Poland authorities is published.
The release reads that the ban does not apply to the listed commodities exported from Poland before February 9, 2017.
To remind, cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza were registered in Poland a few days ago.
