Tigran Kocharyan: Significant number of people expressed desire to visit Artsakh during last month
Armenian blogger Tigran Kocharyan was surprised by the reply of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to the question regarding Russian-Israeli blogger Alexander Lapshin. During today’s press conference Kocharyan recalled the president’s answer: “Is Lapshin still here? I have instructed to hand him over to Azerbaijan.”
This allows us to claim that the judicial system of Belarus is governed by the country’s president. “This is an absurd thing in all the democratic countries, as the judicial power is independent and the president has no influence on court proceedings and their outcome,” he added.
Tigran Kocharyan noted that Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken measures to prevent Lapshin’s extradition, however those steps came late and were localized.
“It is to be realized that Lukashenko is not born as pro-Azerbaijani, he became so. It is a pity that our Foreign Ministry did not take steps in this direction,” S. Kocharyan said.
The blogger noted that during the last one month significant number of people expressed desire to visit Artsakh. “They simply wander what that place is that people can suffer losses or end up in prison for visiting it. The opposite effect has worked,” he added.
