“Azerbaijan has no other means of influencing the situation but shooting, however it is not ready to fight a large-scale war,” Director of the Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan noted the aforesaid during today’s press conference in response to the question regarding the rise in the ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani forces, Panorama.am reports.

In his words Azerbaijan had been preparing for the April war for 22 years, in the past 3-4 years the country leadership spent significant amount of money for the purchase of weapons and cooperated with foreign experts.

“The operation was well worked out, but what results did it give? Over one year on but they have not achieved any results. The Azerbaijani society does not see any results and they need to add some fuel to the fire,” the political scientist said.

A. Iskandaryan noted that it is not possible to avoid tension in the frontline amid such conditions.
