Armenia’s State Revenue Committee facilitates imports of goods for personal use
Armenia’s State Revenue Committee has launched the customs duty receipt system starting from 13 February with the purpose of automation and facilitation of customs procedures. The RA Information and Public Relations Department informed Panorama.am that the system introduced within “RA National Single Window for Foreign Trade” portal will enable physical entities to use a simplified mechanism for declaring the products of personal use for import.
From now on, a physical entity can present a passenger declaration on the basis of which customs officials will calculate the amount of customs duties in case they exist.
“The procedure has been facilitated for more than 5 times. If previously physical entities was obliged to fill in a customs declaration with 54 sections which is intended for big business, now they only need to fill in an 11-section receipt. This means that a physical entity has been distinguished from an organization,” a SRC official noted adding that simplification in the customs clearance will also lead to saving time and resources.
The system also covers the registration of passenger vehicles imported to Armenia temporarily or subject to re-exporting.
