Internal passports of foreign citizens to be considered valid IDs in Armenia
The internal passports of foreign citizens will be considered as valid identification documents (IDs) in Armenia and no notes will be made in them, because as a result of the latter the internal passports lose their validity in other states. Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan announced the aforesaid during today’s Cabinet session presenting the draft on making changes in the Government decisions on “Establishing the RA State Border Regime” and “Identification Documents”.
In the words of the minister, this amendment will in fact enable foreign citizens to enter Armenian on internal passports, which will boost tourism in Armenia.
“This decision will also refer to the Russian citizens enabling them to enter Armenia on their internal passports,” the minister added.
