
Armenia’s Government approved date of Yerevan Council elections
During today’s session, the Armenian Government approved the draft decision on holding regular elections of the Yerevan Council of Elders set on May 14, 2017.
Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Development David Lokyan presented the draft document at the government session.
“The adoption of the draft decision of the Government of Armenia on holding regular election to the Yerevan Council of Elders is conditioned with the end of the term of the Council of Elders as envisaged by Article 16 of the RA Law "On local self-government in the city of Yerevan" and derives from Part 2 of Article 127 of the RA Electoral Code,” the decision reads.
