Criminal case opened on carbon monoxide poisoning of Armenian soldier
The First Garrison Unit of the General Military Investigative Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case on the death of the NKR serviceman Garegin Argamanyan.
As the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee told Panorama.am, today, at around 07:30, the body of Private Garegin Argamanyan, who was a mandatory soldier of the radio platoon of the communication unit, was discovered in the battery-charging warehouse in a permanent deployment area of a military unit of the NKR Defense Army.
The source notes that according to the preliminary data, the soldier died as a result of the carbon monoxide leakage of the diesel generator.
The Garrison Unit has launched a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 376 of the RA Criminal Code (negligence towards the military service that caused severe consequences). Preliminary investigation is underway.
Within the criminal case, investigation of the scene as well as medical-forensic expertise of the body has been conducted. All the necessary investigative operations are carried out to ensure the comprehensive, objective and complete examination of all the details of the case.
