Armenia’s Food Safety Service suspends bread factory operation upon received alert
Upon the basis of an alert received to its hot line from citizen Mariam Kirakosyan (she has discovered a foreign item in a piece of bread), Armenia’s State Service of Food Safety (SSFS) has conducted an inspection in the bread factory owned by private entrepreneur Gegham Muradyan at the address of Dimitrov 5 Street of Nor Aresh district, Yerevan.
As the Press Service of the SSFS told Panorama.am, on the basis of the discovered violations of sanitary and hygiene requirements, the operation of the factory has been suspended till the violations are handled (production and household equipment were in poor conditions, the baking staff has failed to undergo initial and regular medal examination, the factory did not have sanitary certificate, necessary steps were not taken to prevent the entry of insects and animals into the factory’s territory where bread is stored and transferred and bread components and the raw materials were not stored in adequate conditions).
Moreover, 5 members of the baking staff were forbidden to resume their work until they undergo mandatory medical tests.
The deadline for eliminating the violations has been set March 16 2017.
