Iran summons Turkish ambassador over Ankara’s comments
Turkish Ambassador to Iran Reza Hakan Tekin has been summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, IRIB Iranian news agency reports.
As the Iranian source informs, the Foreign Ministry of Iran has submitted his complaint to the Turkish ambassador over the anti-Iranian announcements made by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and President Tayyip Erdogan.
Prior to this, turning to the recent tension in Turkey-Iran relations, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi particularly noted: “We hope that the Turkish politicians will be more cautious and prudent in their statements on Iran. We will be patient with their positions. However there is a certain cap for our patience.”
To note, during his visit paid to Bahrain, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan touched upon the regional developments noting that religious and national differences are observed in Iraq. Iranian nationalism, as well as separatist movements have also been formed there which must be stopped.
