Sharjah Grand Prix: Levon Aronian made a draw against Alexander Riazantsev
Games of Round 4 of FIDE Grand Prix underway in Sharjah took place. In this round, Levon Aronian made a draw against Alexander Riazantsev: the game ended on move 29, Chess Federation of Armenia reports.
Only two out of nine games ended in victories in Round 4. Shakhriyar Mamedyarov overcame Michael Adams and Li Chao of China outplayed Evgeny Tomashevsky of Russia.
After four rounds, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov are leading the table with 3 points apiece. Hikaru Nakamura of the United States sits alone in third with 2.5 points.
Levon Aronian has scored 2 points and shares 4th place.
In Round 5 Aronian will play against leader of the tournament Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.
