Syrian engineers start demining works in Aleppo
Russian mine pickers completed their mission in Syria’s Aleppo and its suburbs and returned to Russia, TASS agency reported, adding demining works will be continued by Syrian bomb technicians
"Demining works will be continued by Syrian bomb technicians who have undergone special training. The Russian specialists will leave their state-of-the-art equipment for their Syrian colleagues," the Russia’s Channel One said, according to the agency.
It is noted that, officers of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria will stay in Aleppo to help conduct humanitarian operations.
Russian mine clearance specialists had been working in Aleppo during two and a half months. In total, for this period, they managed to clear 2,956 hectares of the territory, 945 kilometers of roads, more than 4,500 of buildings and constructions, as well as to discover and neutralize about 36,000 of explosive objects.
