India interested in multimodal transportation through the territory of Armenia
Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia Vahan Martirosyan has received on Thursday the Vice Chairman of Federation of Freight Forwarders Association of India Mr. Shankar Shinde.
According to the release by the ministry, the Indian businessman has presented an overview of their activities and goals, adding they are studying Armenia’s logistics for the purpose of the cooperation.
Mr. Shankar Shinde has noted that they are interested in using Armenia’s capacity as a transit country in forwarding freight from India to Iran and to other destinations, expecting the ministry’s support.
Minister Vahan Martirosyan has stressed that Armenia has the capacity to facilitate multimodal transportation of goods both via rail and road transport to Russia and Europe alike. The minister has expressed readiness to support the process and contribute to the facilitation of the transport route, the ministry said.
