Snowfalls hit several highways in Armenia
Armenia’s Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies told Panorama.am that as of 09:30 February 23, snow is reported in the highways of Artik, Akhuryan, Ashotsk, Aparan, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Masis, Artashat, Ararat, Yeghegnadzor and Vayk regions.
Berd-Tchambarak highway is closed due to blizzards. Vardenyats Pass is barely passable as a result of snowstorm and clear ice. Goris-Sisian roadway is partly covered with clear ice. Fog descended over Talin roads with the visibility of 50-70 meters.
The road crews maintain all-day control over all the highways of the republic, carrying out cleaning operations with chemical salt and sand.
All other interstate and republican roads of Armenia are open for traffic.
