Great honor to be called military doctor, student of military medicine department says
Each student studying at the faculty of Military Medicine of the Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) has a great sense of professional duty and responsibility, student Shahen Badalyan studying in his 5th year told reporters on Thursday during an event dedicated to the celebration of the Feast of Saint Vardan held in the YSMU.
To note, the event was attended by Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, who addressed the students and professorship of the faculty.
Shahen told that Artsakh war played a crucial role his decision to become a military doctor and choosing the respective profession.
“I chose this department, since I scrupulously studied the activity of military doctors during the Artsakh war, when the medical staff stood by our soldiers, lacking elementary conditions,” Shahen said.
The YSMU student added the military doctors have a great responsibility and it is honor to carry that. “The difference between a doctor and a military doctor is seen event at the time of entering university, when the latter swear the Hippocratic Oath and a military oath alike. I am ready to be wherever I am needed,” Shahen said.
