Number of Turkish restaurants, cafés increase in Akhaltsikhe, Georgia
Throughout only one year, the number of Turkish cafés and restaurants have significantly increased in Akhaltsikhe town, Georgia, which was once largely inhabited by Armenians. As akhaltskha.net reports, Armenian and Georgian residents are forbidden to visit many of such restaurants and cafés. Many brothels have long operated in the town, which are intended for the Turkish visitors.
A Turkish restaurant and café can be seen even along one Rustaveli Street of the town.
The Armenian population of Akhaltsikhe, which made up 90% cut down to 40% and currently no Armenian restaurant or café operate in the town due to financial conditions. However, the Turks, who do not still make up a large percentage of the town population, run their own restaurants and other types of businesses.
