Aronian makes another draw in Sharjah Grand Prix
The game of Round 6 of FIDE Grand Prix underway in Sharjah took place. In this round, Armenian GM Levon Aronian played against Francisco Vallejo Pons from Spain. A draw was agreed after 48 move, Chess Federation of Armenia reports.
Only two games of the round ended in victories. Ian Nepomniachtchi and Richard Rapport won their games against Li Chao and Alexander Ryazantsev respectively.
After six rounds, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov are leading the table with 4 points apiece. Hikaru Nakamura, Michael Adams, Dmitry Yakovenko, Ian Nepomniachtchi and Alexander Grischuk have scored 3.5 points apiece and share 3-7 positions.
Levon Aronian has 3 points and shares the 8th place. In Round 7 Armenian GM will compete with Richard Rapport.
