If the Azerbaijani MPs are not pointed out in the European Parliament, it will mean that our parliamentary diplomacy is lame, political scientist says
“If we do not reach a situation in the European Parliament (EP) in the coming future when the Azerbaijani PMs are pointed out and referred to as people from a country that breaks the law, it will mean that our parliamentary diplomacy is lame and fails to settle the issues put in front of it.
Political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan noted the aforesaid during the discussion titled “Azerbaijan’s decision to launch criminal cases against the MEPs: What countermeasures should Armenia take?”
In the words of the political scientist, Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs needs to carry our serious activities.
“We should take steps to show those people concerned about the fate of Artsakh that everything is not left to the mercy of fate and the Armenian side takes measures to defend itself in the international platforms,” he said.
The political scientist thinks that having such an adversary as Azerbaijan creates a need for large-scale activities, however inner demand is needed to carry out that work.
“We have witnessed the brilliant work of the Ombudsman and the Chamber of Advocates at least regarding the recent developments, however we have not sill seen the efforts and the excellent work of our parliamentary diplomacy and the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs, which is subject to criticism,” Melik-Shahnazaryan said.
