Armenian freestyle wrestling team to take part in World Wrestling Championship in Turkey
Starting from 23 February, the Armenian national freestyle wrestling team led by head coach Armen Mkrtchyan have held a training camp in Tsaghkadzor. The Armenian wrestlers are getting ready for the upcoming World Wrestling Championship (Freestyle) in Turkey and the European Championship.
As the Press Service of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia reports, the head coach has invited 30 athletes to take part in the training camp, which will last until 8 March. On 9 March the wrestling team of Armenia will depart for Turkey to take part in the championship.
Armenia will have representatives in all the weight classes in the Istanbul Tournament - Garik Barseghyan (57 kg), Volodya Frangulyan (61 kg), Narek Sirunyan (65 kg), Valter Margaryan (70 kg), Grigor Grigoryan and Varuzhan Kojoyan (74 kg), Vahik Thamrazyan (86 kg), Shamir Atyan, Georgy Ketoev (97 kg) and Andranik Galstyan (125 kg).
Coaches Habetnak Kurghinyan and Edgar Yenokyan, as well as Mihran Jaburyan are the assistants to head coach Armen Mkrtchyan.
