Armenia’s Parliament session kicks off with a minute of silence
Today marks the anniversary of the victims of the massacres of Armenians in Soviet Azerbaijan and the protection of the rights of the displaced Armenian population.
“On 27-29 February 1988, a state-organized genocide and mass relocations of the Armenian population in Sumgait were committed by the Azerbaijani authorities. Those tragic events, that claimed the lives of many of our citizens, once more revealed the real face of Azerbaijan and came to prove that a genocide can be repeated as long as the world refuses to condemn the state that committed such a crime before,” Speaker of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan announced.
