Domestic tourism growing in Armenia
The reports and expert estimates based on the studies implemented by the National Statistical Service of Armenia (NSS) indicate that 1,259,657 tourists arrived in Armenia for the period of January-December 2016, which is a 5.7% increase compared to the same period of 2015.
According to the same data, 1,262,687 people left Armenia for tourism during January- December 2016, which is a 6.3% increase to compare with the number of people who left Armenia in 2015.
The NSS data show that the number of tourists hosted by hotel industry of the Republic of Armenia for January-December 2016 comprised 979,968 people (residents of the Republic of Armenia), which is 12.4% increase compared to the same period of 2015.
