NKR Defense Ministry: Armenian serviceman killed by Azerbaijani shelling in Martuni direction
Starting from 11:25, March 1, the Azerbaijani forces have continued breaching the ceasefire regime along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact firing 10 shells from 60 and 82mm mortars, anti-tank (SPG-9) and under-barrel (GP-25) grenade launchers towards the Armenian positions.
The Press Service of the Defense Ministry of Artsakh reports that at 16:50 March 1, due to the Azerbaijani shelling in the southeastern direction (Martuni) of the contact line, NKR Defense Army contract soldier Nver Yurik Babajanyan (b. 1980) sustained a fatal shrapnel injury.
Preliminary investigation is underway to uncover the details of the incident.
The Defense Ministry of Artsakh Republic shares the grief of the loss and extends condolences to the family members, relatives and co-servicemen of the killed soldier.
