Electricity production increases by 13.6% in Armenia in January
In January 2017, a total of 775.6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity was produced in Armenia which indicates 13.6% increase to compare with January of the previous year, according to the country’s National Statistical Service (NSS).
The NSS reports that electricity generation at terminal power plants rose by 143.9% amounting to 353.1 million kilowatt-hours.
Electricity production volume at hydropower plants cut down by 9.1% totaling to 140.7 million kilowatt-hours.
In the first month of this year, Armenia's Nuclear Power Plant produced 281.5 million kilowatt-hours electricity, which indicates 0.3% decrease to compare with January 2016.
According the indicators of the NSS, the volume of electricity produced by other sources dropped by 25%, comprising 0.3 million kilowatt-hours electricity. The production of thermal energy rose by 10.6% making up 31.2 thousand megajoules.
