Black Sea Trade and Development Bank interested in developing and implementing business projects in Armenia
Armenia’s Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan received on Mach 6 the delegation of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) led by Secretary General Serafeim Tsokas. As the Press Service of the ministry told Panorama.am, the sides discussed the ongoing programs implemented in the framework of the current cooperation.
In this context, the Finance Minister of Armenia highlighted that the projects developed and implemented by the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank are quite unique and the bank really manages to run significantly different effective policy.
Vardan Aramyan noted that it is necessary to establish a platform that will allow to convert ideas into projects in order to register desirable results in coming future.
Taking into account the fact that the bank implements investment programs through allocating loans to the private sector, the RA Finance Minister made a reference to the 2016 New York Investment Forum. The minister noted that currently the telecommunications, energy, information technology and other spheres have a great potential to attract investments. Meanwhile effective cooperation programs can be implemented in free economic zones in terms of attracting investments.
The head of the BSTDB delegation noted that the forum set on March 7 will focus on the issues over providing loans to the private sector. The strategy adopted by the bank in Armenia, as well as the main products offered by the bank will be presented within the forum.
Secretary General Serafeim Tsokas expressed hope that the expansion of the mutually beneficial cooperation will enable to boost the economy of Armenia through efficient investment programs.
“We are very pleased to hold a meeting with the Finance Minister and discuss issues regarding the business forum to be held tomorrow. Some five dozen representatives of the business sphere will take part in the event, which will be followed by bilateral meetings. We are interested in developing and implementing business projects in Armenia, seeking a continuous cooperation,” Tsokas noted.
