RA Special Investigation Service sets up a rapid response team ahead of parliamentary elections
The Head of the RA Special Investigation Service (SIS) Vahram Shahinyan has signed a decree on Thursday to set up a rapid response team ahead of the Armenian parliamentary elections to be held on April 2.
According to the SIS release, the team is tasked with receiving, analyzing reports about possible voter fraud from citizens during the preparation and conduct of the parliamentary elections as well as cooperate with relevant law enforcement bodies
in coordinating the preparation of the materials based on the reports, initiating criminal proceedings and conducting preliminary investigation.
According to the release, the group is headed by Chairman of the SIS Investigation Department of General Crimes and comprises number of senior investigators.
