Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan to perform at Kings Place, London
World-famous Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan, who is gold medallist at the 2011 Tchaikovsky International Cello Com-petition, will today perform at Kings Place concert hall of London, England.
As the official website of the concert hall reports, N. Hakhnazaryan will perform together with pianist Oxana Schevchenko. The concert program features compositions of Tchaikovsky, Khachaturian, Arutiunian, Khudoyan, Giovanni Sollima and Rachmaninov.
The report notes that Narek Hakhnazaryan is in demand the world over. “Here he presents a very personal programme reflecting his Armenian heritage and the Russian tradition in which he was brought up,” reads the article.
Hakhnazaryan is recognised worldwide as one of the finest cellists of his generation. Since winning the Cello First Prize and Gold Medal at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011 at the age of 22, he has forged strong relationships across the globe with orchestras such as the Mariinsky Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, Filarmonica de la Scala and the London Philharmonic. Hakhnazaryan was selected to the prestigious 2014 BBC New Generation Artists Scheme, and his performances are broadcast regularly on BBC Radio 3.
