"Yerevan Perspectives" International Music Festival announces the names of world famous musicians to visit Armenia
The 18th edition of the “Yerevan Perspectives” International Festival will bring number of famous classical musicians, orchestras, ensembles to Armenia, the Israeli chamber orchestra, world known pianist Arcadi Volodos with a solo program, the St. Petersburg Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Fedoseyev as well as The Emerson String Quartet among them.
As Panorama.am leant from the press service of the festival event will be concluded by famous pianist, great friend of Armenia Yevgeny Kisin‘s concert.
According to the source, in the scope of the festival several master classes are planned in Byurakan Academy and concerts throughout Armenian provinces.
The official opening ceremony will take place on March 26 at Aram Khachatourian Concert Hall, featuring an Israeli legendary violinist, a two-time Grammy winner Pinchas Zukerman, who will perform with cellist Amanda Forsyth and the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Eduard Topchjan.
The programme comprises Johannes Brahms’ “Double Concerto for violin and cello” and “Symphony 4”
"Yerevan Perspectives" International Music Festival is an annual, year-round festival that along with inviting prominent musicians to Armenia organizes special projects in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Armenia. The festival opened its academy in Byurakan, Armenia in 2015 where world famous musicians give master classes; The festival was founded in 2000 by composer Prof. Stepan Rostomyan as “Perspectives XXI” (was renamed to “Yerevan Perspectives” in 2010) - as the first art festival in Armenia after the independence from Soviet Union. 2007 was remarkable year for the Festival as it made an application for European festivals Association membership and received it in June. Next year the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan with high appreciation of value of the Festival for the country honored it by giving high patronage.
