Masterpieces of Armenian painters to be presented in Moscow museum
In the framework of the exhibition titled “Armenian Impressionism: From Moscow to Paris”, the Russian population can get acquainted with 58 masterpieces of more than 20 Armenian painters. The exhibition is set to launch on 25 March, in Moscow Museum of Russian impressionism, the Vogue Russia reports.
The paintings feature mother nature, majestic mountains, strict beauty of medieval churches and the traditional food images.
The paintings by Martiros Saryan, Yeghishe Tadevosyan, Sedrak Arakelyan, Vahram Gayfejyan and other artists will be transferred to Moscow from the National Gallery of Armenia. The exhibition will be open until June 4.
It is noted the Armenian impressionism as a unique phenomenon was formed in the end of the 19th century influenced by the French Impressionism. However, the Russian Art played a certain role in the development of Armenian fine art, as many Armenian artists studied at prominent masters of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the likes of Vasily Polenov, Konstantin Korovin, Valentin Serov.
