Panorama.am wins consumer rights reporting award
Panorama.am journalist Lala Ter-Ghazaryan won an award for the best reporting of the consumers’ right topic in electronic media. At a forum entitled “Food Security – Consumers’ Right” held on the occasion of the World Consumer Rights Day marked on 15 March worldwide, our reporter was noted for extensive reporting and spotlighting the topic of food security and the rights of consumers.
To note, the event was aimed at raising awareness about consumer rights, promoting the basic rights of all consumers, reporting the market abuses and social injustices which undermine those rights.
“Informed and Protected Consumer” NGO was recognized as the winner in “Non-governmental organization entry” that protected the consumer rights.
“This comes to show that our criticism reaches its target,” head of the NGO Babken Pipoyan said, after receiving the award.
The event was organized by Armenia’s State Service for Food Security affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture. Press Secretary at the Service Nvard Arakelyan told reporters the winners were determined based on MaxMonitor data which is a media monitoring, analysis and measurement platform, developed by Mediamax company.
Yerevan resident Astghik Pashalyan was recognized as the most literate and exacting consumer who constantly revealed and reported cases of violations of food security standards with follow-up monitoring over the fixing of irregularities.
Hrachya Manukyna, Director at “Fruiteria” LTD won the nomination of the best conscientious producer. As Nvard Arajkelyan informed, Manukyan established a fruit-drying enterprise in Vedi town of Ararat provinces from exclusively locally cultivated fruits and vegetables.
