As the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the RA President’s Office told Panorama.am, the leaders of the two strategic partner countries discussed issues over the agenda of Armenian-Russian bilateral and multilateral format relations and cooperation, as well as touched upon the implementation process of the high-level agreements reached in various spheres.
Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin discussed the process of the settlement of the NK conflict and exchanged views over the urgent international and regional issues and challenges.
At the beginning of the narrow format meeting, Russia’s President welcomed his Armenian counterpart and noted that on April 3 Russia and Armenia will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, which have turned into allied relations during these years.
“We actively cooperate in almost all directions within the international organizations, including the ones formed in the post-Soviet territory and universal international organizations.
These years have seen numerous events; however, the relations between Armenia and Russia have always been built on the basis of deep roots that have century-long history.
We are aware that this meeting is being held against the background of preparations of major political events in Armenia: Parliamentary elections are set to be held on 2 April and this is all related to the Constitutional reforms. The process does not seem to be an easy one, however I am convinced that under your leadership Armenia will overcome this stage of development. We sincerely wish success to you,” President Putin said.

“This year is really a jubilee year as we mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations. These years have been a period of close cooperation and we have managed to establish true allied relations.
Relations of such character always determine our agenda. Mr. Putin, I am convinced that our today’s meeting will also be substantial being held in an atmosphere of complete trust.
Thank you for the invitation and the warm reception,” President Sargsyan said.
The narrow format meeting was followed by talks in expanded format with the participation of the delegation members of the two states.
