“Tolstoy in Life” exhibition to launch in Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum
A temporary exhibition titled “Tolstoy in Life” will today launch at Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum. The exhibition will be open until 25 April 2017.
The Armenian Ministry of Culture reports that the exhibition will reveal the most important events of Leo Tolstoy’s life, his activities, relations and interactions with his family and different people surrounding him, that have triggered the writer’s creative writing.
Due to many years of hard work, Tolstoy collected materials from everywhere for the creation of his works. Thus, the Caucasian impressions of the writer were manifested in his stories The Cossacks and Hadji Murat.
Numerous photos have been preserved on Tolstoy’s life and literary period, which depict the writer in different stages of his creative life starting from the beginning of his activities till the last year of the writer’s life.
The visitors of the exhibition will get acquainted with commander Tolstoy, the young author of Childhood autobiographical story, the Tolstoy, who headed the happy family during the years he wrote the novel War and Peace and the wise old man, who called on the humanity to cure their souls instead of their bodies.
