People’s Artist of Armenia Anatoly Grigoryan dies at 75
Armenia’s Ministry of Culture informs that on 17 March, Armenian painter, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia Anatoly Hakob Grigoryan passed away aged 75. Government commission has been set up to organize the painter’s funeral.
Anatoly Grigoryan was born in 1941, Leninakan (Gyumri). In 1961 he graduated from Terlemezyan Art College of Fine Arts and in 1967 – from the Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts and Theatre.
During 1967-1976, Grigoryan worked at the Radio and Television Committee as an art director.
In 1970 he became a member of USSR Union of Artists Board of Directors. In 1977 Grigoryan was elected as Secretary of the RA Union of Artists.
In 1983, Hakob Grigoryan was granted the rank of the Honored Artist of the USSR.
