Items of Aram Khachaturian’s private furniture returned to the house-museum
Private things of prominent Armenian composer Aram Khachatriam were returned to the House-Museum after Khachaturian in Yerevan from Latvia.
As Panorama.am learnt from the museum, the items of the private furniture were obtained from Nina Mereshnikova’s apartment, who had received them as gift from Khachaturian.
Mereshnikova, born and grown in Tbilisi, used to work at the Clinic of Ophthalmology in Yerevan, was Khachaturian’s art connoisseur, who donated number of valuable materials to the house-museum right after its establishments.
Some of the items were in Latvia kept at a collector. The museum experts attended several times Mereshnikova’s apartment to confirm the items’ belonging to Khachaturian.
At the initiative of Armenia's Honorary Consul in Latvia Armen Ghasaboghlyan the items were returned to the House-Museum after Aram Khachaturian.
