European lawmakers interested in Artsakh
Belgian federal and Brussels regional parliaments’ members André du Bus de Warnaffe, Emmanuel De Bock, and Pierre Compagnie who visited Artsakh at the initiative of the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy held a press conference in Stepanakert.
Artsakhpress reports, the head of the office of the Armenian National Committee of Europe Gaspar Karapetyan welcomed the guests and said that the Belgian MPs received great impressions again visiting Artsakh.
Member of Wallonia-Brussels Federal Parliament Andre du Bas de Warnaffe said he sees cooperation areas in a number of spheres.
“Our visit not only aims at revealing Artsakh, but also to find ways for contacts and communication. I especially want to identify 3 spheres where cooperation is possible. The first one is the healthcare field, here we can work together in insurance affairs. The next fields are culture and tourism”, he said, according to the source.
Andre du Bas de Warnaffe said they will tell about Artsakh, their impressions about the country in Belgium.
“We explain our partners that Artsakh is a country which has a real democracy, people here fight for real values, there is a freedom of speech here. We will tell in Belgium how people here fight for their rights”, he stated.
Attaching importance to his visit to Artsakh, Belgian MP Pierre Kompany said here he was hosted at a high level.
“Here I understood that people of Artsakh fight for values. The situation forces to pay high cost for that freedom. I think you have already paid dearly for having real democracy here. I want to assure that we are with you”, he said.
