Prime Minister receives Tumo Center founder
Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received on Tuesday the founder of Tumo Center for Creative Technologies Sem Simonyan. As the governmental press service reports, the interlocutors have discussed issues related to the establishment of the Inter-University Center of Higher Education.
Prime Minister Karapetyan attached importance to the reforms in the education sphere and hailed Mr Sominyan’s initiative in that respect.
According to the release, the head of the cabinet expressed readiness to support the program implementation, adding it would contribute to the quality of the education as well as the change of environment, the development of the younger generation.
Sem Simonyan thanked the Prime Minister, adding the European Union is set to assist the program implementation.
The interlocutors reflected on the Tumo center activity, its initiatives and projects.
To note, Tumo is a new kind of after-school learning environment where thousands of students aged 12-18 are in charge of their own learning.
Tumo is a non-profit venture and participation in the Tumo program is free of charge and open to all local teenagers. Tumo has four centers located in Yerevan Gyumri, Dilijan, and Stepanakert having in total 10,000 enrolled students.
