171 CIS observers to follow parliamentary elections in Armenia
The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) observers continue the monitoring of the pre-election campaign ahead of Armenia’s April 2 parliamentary elections, the headquarters of the CIS observation mission told Panorama.am.
According to the source, the head of the mission Y. Sloboda has met with OSCE / ODIHR (OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights) observer mission head Jan Petersen to discuss matter related to the pre-election campaign as well as coordination and maintaining contact on the election day.
It is expected that the CIS observation mission will include 171 members from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly as well as the Executive Committee of the organization.
