Country branding is very closely connected with its reputation – Solly Moeng
“A country’s reputation plays a significant role in its branding, i.e. the branding of a country is very closely connected with its reputation. It is necessary to make a country’s image more attractive, otherwise we will fail in its branding,” Executive Director of DonValley Marketing & Communications Solly Moeng said during the forum “From Crisis to Development - Powered by Communication” underway in Yerevan.
In his words, it is highly important that all the Armenians living worldwide talk positively about Armenia, so that people express a desire to visit the country.
Speaking about the difference between brand identification and the brands, S. Moeng said: “Brand identification is the fact which you want to be recognized for, its image is the thing which you are known for. The gap between the two concepts should be reduced.”
He also noted that it is necessary to continue acting and being reliable, so that people wish to return to the same country.
“We should follow the principle of satisfying our customers. A person with a negative experience will never tell good things about your country,” Executive Director of DonValley said.
In his words, the private and public sectors of the country must manage to cooperate in the country and outside its borders to form a positive image of the country.
To note, WCFDavos/Yerevan two-day forum launched in Yerevan on March 21. It is organized by Armenian Public Relations Association (APRA) in cooperation with Davos World Communication Forum Association.
In the framework of the forum which is held for the first time in the region with its format, discussions over the issues of crisis communication, social media, corporate responsibility were held yesterday.
