Two Armenian soldiers wounded in April War continue their treatment
Armenian soldier Daniel Davtyan, who sustained a shrapnel injury in the head during the April military clashes in the Karabakah-Azerbaijan Line of Contact in Mataghis, will undergo a second surgery.
To note, Daniel sustained a shrapnel injury of the brain when the shrapnels of the exploded shell penetrated into his head.
“There were four shrapnels in my brain; two of the fragments are still inside it. This year they [the doctors] are to remove the fragments and carry out a plastic surgery. The day of the surgery is not set yet, I am still waiting,” Daniel said in an interview with Panorama.am.
Almost one year on the April events (four-day war in April 2016 on NKR-Azerbaijan Line of Contact), Daniel remembers his co-servicemen will each passing moment with excitement and annoyance. “When you see how your soldier friend is bleeding out and you are not able to help him with something, it is equal to death, I have felt it,” he said.
Contract soldier Hayk Sekhilyanm, who sustained a spinal injury in Talish on April 4 during the period of the four-day war, will also continue his treatment.
In an interview with us, Hayk said that it is not yet clear whether he will continue his treatment in abroad or in Armenia. “Currently the issue is under discussion, the commission is to decide whether to send me abroad or not.”
The contract serviceman said that he has served in the military forces for ten years already and still continues his work, only in outpatient settings.
“Our goal is to see all the boys recovering quickly and getting back to their former lifestyle as much as possible being able to work and, most importantly, having such an opportunity,” Hayk added.
