David Mackenzie suggests opening School of Film and Television in Armenia
Renowned film director and scriptwriter David Mackenzie has expressed a desire to establish a School of Film and Television in Yerevan, Armenia’s’ PM Karen Karapetyan told at a cabinet session on Thursday, adding the proposal had been received from Mackenzie.
According to the proposal, the School will operate as a partner structure to the Los Angeles Cinema School and will obtain filmmaking gear and equipment from the U.S and other countries within three years. David Mackenzie envisages to invest $5 million into the project, Karapetyan informed.
The Prime Minister instructed Armenia’s ministry of culture to study the proposal and assess the possibility of inviting the director to start negotiations.
