Tatev Abrahamyan, Varuzhan Hakobyan to take part in U.S. Chess Championships
The 2017 U.S. Men’s and Women’s Chess Championships will kick off on March 29 with Armenian chess payers Tatev Abrahamyan and Varuzhan Hakobyan participating in it. As Panorama.am was informed from Chess.am, both of the championships feature 12 of the strongest chess players. Famous players Hikaru Nakamura, Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, as well as Gata Kamsky and Alexander Onischuk will take part in the U.S. Men’s Championship. In the Women’s Championship, Tatev Abrahamyan, who is 2016 U.S. Runner-Up, will play against Irina Krush, - an American chess International Grandmaster (GM) who has won the U.S. Women's Chess Championship seven times, a four-time U.S. Women’s Champion and three-time Ukrainian Women’s Champion Anna Zatonskih, as well as 2016 champion Nazí Paikidze.
