The ruling Republican Party leads in new Gallup polls ahead of the April 2 parliamentary elections
Armenian representation of the Gallup International Association has conducted the second opinion polling to gauge voting intentions in the run-up to the April 2 Parliamentary elections. Aram Navasardyan, Director of Gallup International Association Office in Armenia told a press conference today, saying the opinion poll was conducted among 1,145 respondents from March 12 through March 19 in the territory of Armenia.
According to the fresh results, 29,4% of the respondents said they would vote for ruling Republican party (RPA) when asked which political party of bloc they would you vote for if the parliamentary elections were held on forthcoming Sunday. According to the survey, 28,2% of Armenians stated their intention to vote for the “Tsarukyan” bloc. Voter preferences for other political forces go in the following order: 6,1% – for “Yelq” (Exit) bloc, 4,8% – for ARF-Dashnaktsutyun, 4,4% – Free Democrats, 3,4% – “Armenian Renaissance”, 2,9% – ANC-HZhK, 2,5% preferred to vote for ORO bloc, while 1,2% of the respondents stated desire to give their vote to the Communist Party.
9,5 percent declined to respond, while 7,6% percent were not precise what political force they preferred.
Navasardyan noted that the ruling party is ahead of “Tsarukyan” bloc in the new polls to compare with the previous results. As a possible explanation Navasardyan cited the positive image of PM Karen Karapetyan who had solidified the positive perception of the ruling party in the eyes of the public.
