Esquire Russia journal has compiled the list of top 7 art events in Moscow for upcoming weeks with exhibition entitled “Armenian Impressionism: From Moscow to Paris” included in it.

To remind, the exhibition opened at the Museum of Russian Impressionism in Moscow on March 25. It familiarizes the visitors with the phenomenon of Armenia impressionism. As the organizers of the exhibition noted earlier, Armenia is famous for its marvelous mountains, medieval monuments, Armenian traditional cuisine, fine canvases of Arshil Gorki and cinema scenes of Sergey Parajanov. The Museum of Russian Impressionism now presents the works of Armenian artists who have brought the best traditions of the French impressionism, while their works are put on equal footing with canvases by Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

The exhibition features 54 works by 19 artists that are provided by the National Gallery of Armenia, the Yerevan Museum of Russian Art as well from private collections. The visitors may admire the works of world-known artist such as Vardges Surenyants, Martiros Saryan, renown master of Armenian impressionism Yeghishe Tadevosyan, Vahram Gafeschyan, Sedrak Arakelyan and others.

In the scope of the exhibition an illustrated catalogue will be published to contain articles on Armenia Impressionism as an artistic genre, interesting facts form the biographies of the artists, while the event will be enriched with lectures, thematic debates, musical evenings and tours.

The exhibition will be open until June 4.
