Armenia sees increase in domestic consumption and exports of electricity
As Armenia’s Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources told Panorama.am, Armenia saw increase in the electricity production volumes in the first two months of this year. The growth amounted to 10,4 percent.
A total of 1 billion 450 million kilowatt-hours electricity was produced in Armenia, which exceeds the indicator of the previous year by 136,5 million kilowatt-hours.
The rise in the production volumes is based on both the growth in domestic consumption and in exports. In January-February of this year more than 25 million kilowatt-hours electricity was supplied to Georgia. In the same period of the previous year, no supplies were made in this direction.
To note, this year 1 million kilowatt-hours electricity was imported from Georgia to compare with 8,9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity imported from the country in the same period of 2016.
