Judo: Armenian athletes win silver, bronze at European Cup
On April 1-2, the Armenian Judo Adults' National Team took part at the European Judo Cup in Dubrovnik, Croatia. In an interview with the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, Vice-President of the Armenian Judo Federation David Khitaryan said that the Armenian athletes have claimed one bronze and one silver medals. In particular, Sose Balasanyan claimed the silver and Ferdinand Karapetyan won the bronze medal.
Gor Mkrtchyan (60 kg), Ferdinand Karapetyan (73 kg) and Sose Balasanyan (52 kg) represented Armenia in the competition.
David Khitaryan went on noting that the Armenian judo team is set to hold a training camp in Sochi on 8-16 April. Afterwards the team will depart for Warsaw to take part in the European Judo Championships on April 20-23. The members of the team are not known yet.
