Yerevan Metro tightens control after St. Petersburg blast
Following the St. Petersburg subway explosion Karen Demirchyan Yerevan Metro (subway) has tightened security control. Director of the Yerevan Metro Paylak Yayloyan noted the aforesaid in an interview with Panorama.am.
“We have tightened the security, which is in the interests of our citizens,” the director noted adding that they regularly implement similar activities.
Paylak Yayloyan informed the police offers maintain tightened security checking out baggages of suspicious size.
“All possible measures are taken to ensure the security of the passengers. It is eventually a strategic object and we must be carefull,” he said.
In his words after the St. Petersburg bombing, all the countries of the CIS conduct similar operations.
